Lightning Labs is seeking a passionate Lightning Evangelist to grow and connect with the global Lightning community. This role focuses on engaging developers, founders, end-users, and enthusiasts to expand the Lightning Network’s reach. The ideal candidate possesses experience in the Bitcoin community, a proven ability to connect with developers worldwide, and a commitment to improving the developer experience of building with Lightning.
Requirements
- Passion for Bitcoin, Lightning, and the mission: A deep commitment to bringing financial freedom to the world through Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.
- Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to identify and solve real-world problems for users.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both externally (regarding Lightning Labs’ technology and products) and internally (regarding community feedback).
- Hypothesis-Driven Iteration: Comfortable tackling open-ended problems, formulating hypotheses, iterating quickly, and measuring impact to guide future steps.
- Preferred: Experience Presenting: Experience presenting about Bitcoin or Lightning at events (conferences, meetups, videos, podcasts, or articles).
- Preferred: Experience with Emerging Markets: Familiarity with and experience working in emerging markets.
Responsibilities
- Lightning Community Engagement:
- Embed within the global Lightning community (end users, application builders, routing node operators, protocol developers).
- Understand community priorities and how Lightning Labs can assist.
- Attract new developers to the Lightning Network by connecting them with like-minded individuals, highlighting community projects, and organizing opportunities for involvement.
- Developer & Community Calls: Organize calls to communicate Lightning Labs updates and incorporate community feedback.
- Business Development:
- Source new potential customers (Lightning-first developers, bitcoin technical teams integrating stablecoins).
- Support existing customers as a point of contact for software issues and to explain new features.
- Connect customers with ecosystem participants to help them succeed.
