Proficiency in Katana
Proficiency in Maya
Proficiency in Linux, UNIX
Scripting knowledge (MEL, Perl, Python)
Rendering knowledge: Renderman shading, volume rendering, raytracing
Compositing skills: Knowledge of relevant compositing software including Nuke (preferred); compositing experience required
Education: 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate preferred, or minimal 2-3 years of relevant experience
Demo reel illustrating relevant artistic and technical experience, including nuances for this specific role
Excellent communication skills in both French and English

Responsibilities

Designs and implements lighting for characters and environments for assigned shots
Ensures lighting meets and improves the given art direction
Lights multiple types of scenes from simple to moderately difficult
Ensures assigned shots fit the continuity of the sequence
Develops solutions and techniques that meet art/technical direction
Meets efficiency and quota targets
Interacts with supervisors/peers to exchange information relevant to the show or sequences
