Requirements

  • Expertise in creating custom queries from start to finish utilizing Crystal Reports, including crosstabs, advanced formulas, parameters, and subreports
  • Knowledge of publishing reports for end-user self-service through Infoview, a web-reporting tool
  • Ability to interpret and analyze state law, regulatory changes, and state departments of insurance guidelines, including creating/maintaining charts, automating spreadsheets, and updating deadline schedules
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving complex system issues at a Business Analyst level, including preparing test plans, conducting user system testing, and system maintenance
  • Advanced skills in gathering data from sources like state departments of insurance and NIPR, creating reports, and performing automated comparisons using Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience in project management, including research, development, creation, documentation, quality measures, and completion of projects related to new products, clients, state changes, conversions, and processes
  • Familiarity with accounting functions such as invoice payments, reconciliation, voiding checks, depositing vendor checks, and re-classing expenses
  • Capability to facilitate processes like the Alerts Process involving license compliance monitoring, report creation, automated comparisons, and discrepancy assignment
  • Skills in setting up and submitting reports to clients via FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

Responsibilities

  • Create custom reports using Crystal Reports for specialized audits of clients, licenses, appointments, projects, invoice reconciliations, Market Conduct Examinations, tax liability reporting, financial planning, and rating agency questionnaires (70%)
  • Provide reports to in-house customers (e.g., Actuarial, Tax Department, business segments) and directly to clients via FTP
  • Interpret state regulatory bulletins/notifications, analyze changes, take applicable actions, and maintain tracking tools like charts, spreadsheets, and deadline schedules (15%)
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting, documenting, and resolving department inquiries on errors, daily support, and production issues; escalate to IT/management as needed; handle test plans, user testing, and system maintenance (15%)
  • Manage client, license, and appointment audits by gathering data, creating advanced reports/Excel comparisons, documenting results, assigning discrepancies, paying invoices, and ensuring regulatory compliance; facilitate the Alerts Process (20%)
  • Create and manage Licensing Department projects for new products/clients, state changes, conversions, and processes, including research, development, documentation, quality measures, and completion (10%)
  • Perform accounting tasks including invoice payments/reconciliation, voiding checks, depositing vendor checks, and re-classing expenses (5%)
