Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years in collections, workout, and/or recovery. A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or work leadership experience is also required, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, high PC proficiency, and strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree, 10 years of commercial equipment leasing and finance collections experience, 5 years of supervisory experience, workout and credit analysis experience, and knowledge of asset recovery laws and regulations.
The Collections Manager will oversee a team responsible for collections, repossessions, remarketing of assets, litigation, and bankruptcies for small ticket business equipment leases. Key duties include managing past due payments, assisting collectors with strategies, aiding in asset repossession and remarketing, supporting bankruptcy and litigation efforts, working with external vendors, approving asset sales and settlements, establishing and enforcing policies, utilizing tracking systems for analysis and reporting, developing strategies to improve collection effectiveness, and managing staff performance. The role also requires adherence to risk and regulatory standards and maintaining internal control standards.
