Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with at least five years of experience in designing and supporting communication systems, preferably in industrial or energy applications. Proficiency in Linux or IOS command-line tools, a strong understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus and MQTT, practical experience with network troubleshooting tools like Wireshark and NetFlow, and basic knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to read schematics are required. Programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages is a strong plus, and familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial networks and relevant ICS-related standards and regulations, such as NERC CIP and IEC 62443, is advantageous.
The Lead Network and Communications Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing secure, reliable, and efficient network solutions for BESS systems, developing communication protocols and architectures for seamless integration with SCADA, IoT, and cloud platforms, configuring and managing communication devices, routers, and switches, diagnosing and resolving network and communication issues, supporting application development efforts, creating and maintaining detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity protocols, providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
