  • Description: As an Industrial Engineer, Commissioning Services (IECS), you will be key in assisting with the installation, commissioning, and testing of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)-controlled equipment and system integration at customer sites. You will focus on improving Symbotic’s site commissioning services processes, assisting in project resource management, and analyzing operational performance for continuous improvement. The commissioning team plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful deployment of robotic systems.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) systems
  • Ability to conduct basic hardware testing
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Basic diagnostic tool proficiency
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and hardware

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the commissioning of HMI systems, establishing connections with PLCs.
  • Conduct basic hardware testing to verify system performance.
  • Perform system functionality tests to ensure integration with the customer’s WMS.
  • Utilize basic diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues, with guidance.
  • Develop a strong understanding of commissioning tools and systems.
  • Support the startup, commissioning, and testing of PLC-controlled equipment at customer locations.
  • Participate in system integration testing of Symbotic adapter cells, storage solutions, and safety systems.
  • Assist in executing tasks outlined in the Commissioning Services Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, software, customer support).
  • Assist in the commissioning of PLC controllers, ensuring proper functionality.
