Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment operation
Valid certificate(s) of training and applicable licenses for operation of equipment, as required
One year prior supervisory or lead operator experience working at sites regulated by OSHA
Experience with equipment and tool management/facility maintenance
Responsibilities
Inspects all required equipment at the start of shift and at each start-up during the shift; records data on daily inspection forms; completes Equipment Condition Reports and reports repairs to supervisor/maintenance
Safely and efficiently operates equipment including forklift, scraper, motor grader, sweeper, baler, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, and other facility equipment
Continuously monitors equipment for operational readiness, performs basic troubleshooting, and reports complex issues to maintenance staff
Reviews daily production schedules, estimates hour requirements, establishes work procedures, and adjusts as necessary to meet schedules
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality; suggests changes for efficiency
Directs employees, interprets policies/instructions/specifications, assigns duties, coordinates activities, and trains new employees
Ensures shop is clean, serviced, and stored at end of each shift
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
Coordinates daily activities of Heavy Equipment Operators or Stationary Equipment Operators, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and federal/state requirements
