Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience
5+ years of relevant and practical experience
Preferred: Any relevant IT Certification
Proficiency in relational database systems such as BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, common table expressions, query optimization, execution plans, indexing, and caching strategies
Proficiency in data modeling fundamentals, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), data flow diagrams, dimensional modeling, multi-dimensional modeling, and advanced normalization
Strong documentation skills for data model diagrams, schema descriptions, and metadata
Familiarity with version control systems like Git
Understanding of data governance principles, data stewardship, and data cataloging
Proficiency in designing comprehensive data models and architectures aligned with business processes and enterprise needs
Advanced knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling
Experience in enterprise-level data strategy and management of complex data architectures
Soft skills: Visionary leadership, mentorship, innovation, strategic communication, change management, conflict resolution, and decision-making

Responsibilities

Craft scalable data models and architectures that meet current business needs and future challenges
Provide advanced mentorship and guidance to junior and senior data modelers, fostering continuous improvement and innovation
Lead and mentor a team of data modelers, including training and oversight
Design comprehensive data architectures aligned with business needs and long-term data strategies
Develop and execute data strategies aligned with organizational business objectives
Develop and execute a strategic plan for data modeling initiatives
Optimize database and query performance for large datasets
Integrate data engineering practices such as ETL, job orchestration, and monitoring
Ensure data consistency, alignment with business processes, and enterprise-wide coverage
Maintain clear documentation of data models, schemas, and metadata
Perform other assigned job-related duties aligned with the organization's vision, mission, and values
