Job Description Summary

Humana is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive innovation in data management, governance, and protection. This role integrates advanced technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cloud-native platforms—with state, federal, and enterprise policies to deliver compliance-focused products and streamlined business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures to efficiently convert structured and unstructured data into actionable insights.
  • Ingest data from diverse internal and external sources, leveraging cloud-native platforms and adhering to software development best practices.
  • Develop and implement advanced tools utilizing AI, ML, and big data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data.
  • Advise leadership on functional strategies and data-driven decision making, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and compliance requirements.
  • Exercise independent judgment and manage complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Lead and mentor sub-teams of developers and engineers to achieve team and enterprise objectives.
  • Use your skills to make an impact.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with cloud-native platforms, big data technologies, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Proven expertise in AI and machine learning integration for data processing and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex data challenges and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience advising executives and managing technical teams.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and protection standards.
