Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of capital equipment sales experience in medical devices, ideally involving high-tech solutions such as navigation, imaging, or robotics
  • Demonstrated success in complex sales cycles and experience managing public procurement processes (including NHS and private hospital capital committees)
  • Strong knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape – including NHS SC & framework agreements
  • Strategic and consultative selling skills
  • High commercial and financial acumen
  • Strong communication and presentation ability
  • Resilience, drive, and ownership mentality
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex decision-making chains
  • Extensive travel across the UK
  • Occasional travel to UK or European HQs for training and strategic alignment
  • Full driving licence required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Desirable: existing relationships with surgical decision-makers and capital buyers in Ireland
  • Desirable: understanding of clinical workflow in operating theatres and digital OR environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a territory strategy to grow market share and drive adoption of navigation, robotics, and imaging technologies in key hospitals across the Territory
  • Identify and target high-potential hospitals, surgical departments, and clinical champions
  • Own the end-to-end capital sales process from early-stage engagement through to hospital approval, capital justification, and deal closure
  • Navigate NHS procurement frameworks, private hospital capital planning processes, and public tender submissions
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with Spinal and Neurosurgeons, theatre teams, biomedical engineers, procurement professionals, and hospital executives
  • Coordinate product demonstrations, site visits, and capital evaluations to influence buying decisions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Clinical Support, Technical Services, Tenders & Contracts, and European Strategic Accounts to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Maintain up-to-date records in CRM, including accurate opportunity forecasts, pipeline status, and activity tracking
