Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Technical Engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • 3+ years of work experience in technical engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years working in the technical department for Contractors
  • Knowledge in Cut and Bend lists
  • Extensive knowledge of checking design, calculations, specifications, and drawings
  • High-level knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CAD, and Blue Beam
  • Ability to work efficiently with or without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with various audiences (management, coworkers, clients, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, bill of quantities, technical specifications, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, detailed analyses, and other materials
  • Coordinate with Construction for monthly progress updates
  • Prepare information for Request for Information (RFI) to solve technical issues
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and Engineers
  • Review supplier drawing submittals and shop drawings
  • Respond to field requests for information and perform technical bid analyses
  • Provide periodic onsite construction inspections when structural issues are detected
  • Review of the as-built information provided by the Designer to ensure coherence with the final solutions implemented on-site
