Position Overview

Ashby is seeking its first dedicated IT hire to join the team. Frank, Head of Security & IT, started his career in data centers and transitioned to Corporate IT, helping companies scale. He then focused on Information Security and recently joined Ashby, where he's implemented tools and processes for scaling and efficiency. Now, he’s looking for a dedicated IT professional to build out the IT function, provide primary IT support, and continue improving processes. This role will involve user-facing support and backend system maintenance (e.g., Okta). The ideal candidate will operate independently with guidance available as needed. Ashby currently serves notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake and boasts impressive growth and retention metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Customer Service Orientation
  • Strategic thinking and experience with owning the IT function
  • Attention to detail with a focus on execution
  • Familiar with working and troubleshooting in an international remote environment
  • Experience setting up Okta from scratch, including HRIS sync, SCIM, and Okta Workflows
  • Knowledge of Kandji or similar MDM
  • Apple Mac best practices
  • Google Workspace proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary contact for all things IT
  • Provide user-facing IT support
  • Maintain and troubleshoot backend IT systems (e.g., Okta)
  • Reassess and improve IT processes and tools as the company grows
  • Lay the foundation for a future IT team
  • Contribute as a strong technical individual contributor
  • Help build out an IT function at a startup
