Position Overview

Hugging Face is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. We are building the fastest-growing platform for AI builders, serving over 5 million users and 100,000 organizations. As our Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global operations and ensuring legal compliance across a wide range of activities.

About the Role

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Contract Review: Reviewing all types of contracts and supporting legal operations.
• Labor Law & HR Operations: Handling labor law matters, onboarding/offboarding processes, and managing relationships with external service providers (lawyers, visa providers, accountants) across North America/LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.
• Legal Watch: Monitoring various legal topics relevant to AI, including Intellectual Property (IP) and privacy.
• Corporate Matters: Assisting with corporate legal affairs.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A legal educational background.
• 3+ years of experience as a Legal Counsel, preferably within a startup environment.
• The ability to think strategically while being nimble, pragmatic, and creative in problem-solving.
• Autonomy, independence, and strong communication skills, essential for a decentralized organization.
• Excellent organizational and administrative writing skills.
• A genuine care for employee experiences and a strong understanding of the importance of inclusion.
• A passion for building and thriving in a fast-growing international environment.
• Solid startup or entrepreneurial experience is preferred.
• Mandatory fluency in both French and English.
