Candidates should possess 8-10+ years of legal experience with a JD/LLB or equivalent law degree and admission to a state bar or analogous governing body. Essential skills include experience advising people business partners, a strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional compliance, and experience drafting employment policies across various jurisdictions. Familiarity with employee privacy laws, PEOs, and alternative workforce management solutions is also required, along with experience advising technology companies or fast-paced global organizations, preferably in a remote work environment. The ability to work with technical teams, translate technical concepts, and manage multiple matters simultaneously with strong project management skills is crucial.
The Senior Legal Counsel, Employment will provide day-to-day employment law guidance to internal stakeholders across NORAM and APJ regions, advising on hiring, termination, performance management, and disciplinary matters. They will partner with the People team to implement employment policies and practices, monitor and analyze employment law developments, and propose solutions to address risks. Responsibilities include drafting, maintaining, and reviewing employment templates and policies, creating jurisdiction-specific guidance and training materials, and supporting the rollout of new employment-related initiatives globally. The role also involves leading workplace investigations, managing employment-related disputes, coordinating with outside counsel, and providing strategic advice on investigation outcomes and remedial actions.
