Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Molecular Biology/Genetics or a related field (Advanced Degrees preferred)
  • Life Sciences industry experience with 1-3 years of cold-calling experience, CRM work, or sequencing laboratory experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in prospecting, lead qualification, funnel management, drive to close, and ongoing account management
  • Experience with capital equipment, sequencing consumables, or a combination
  • Experience with strategic selling/Professional Selling Skills (PSS), working with cross-functional teams, and value-based selling
  • Ability to conduct effective and professional presentations to customers, peers, and management
  • Self-starter capable of mentoring junior ISR colleagues
  • Comfortable with physical tasks such as frequently moving boxes up to 20 pounds
  • Willingness to work onsite in San Diego with up to 10% domestic travel

Responsibilities

  • Meet and/or surpass sales targets for instrument sales, sequencing consumables, and related services at new capital purchases and throughout the instrument's lifetime
  • Manage the customer sales process via phone, email, web/remote conferencing, and limited on-site visits to promote and develop Element business
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to prospect and qualify sales leads from various sources, identify owners, and route them in Salesforce to appropriate sales leads
  • Achieve and/or exceed all assigned sales and leads targets
  • Effectively manage inbound/outbound customer communications, including lead qualification from events/marketing/prospect lists, coordinating with internal resources to address questions/objections, identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and driving instrument utilization
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers and internal team members
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM for accurate lead qualification, funnel management, forecasting, and productivity maximization
  • Achieve daily customer phone contact objectives to deliver sales presentations addressing research needs and increasing opportunities/sales
