Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; Science or Business strongly preferred
  • 1+ year of healthcare/science sales experience required, or equivalent clinical work experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare/science sales preferred
  • Shown selling agility
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Consistent track record of establishing goals and achieving results
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
  • Strong desire to serve the customer
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, sales meetings, and training events if needed
  • Flexibility and comfort working within time zones across the US

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end users within assigned territory
  • Independently make decisions, apply available resources to meet customer needs, and work effectively with cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business within assigned territory
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory primarily by phone (face-to-face meetings may be required)
  • Research competitor and industry activity; keep informed of new products/services and incorporate into business plan; introduce new products and services
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for accurate management of territory
  • Connect with supervisor on any customer issues or potential problems; perform other tasks assigned by manager
  • Advise customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations
