Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Membership in the Philippine Bar in good standing
  • 10+ years of experience in a law firm or as an in-house corporate lawyer, with specific experience in BPO, offshore staffing, or similar industries
  • Strong understanding of legal complexities surrounding offshore operations, employee relations, and cross-border legal issues
  • Extensive experience in corporate law, labor relations, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in handling contracts, indemnity clauses, and service level agreements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly those related to offshore staffing and BPO operations
  • Provide expert legal guidance on labor relations, employment contracts, non-compete enforcement, and dispute resolution in the context of offshore staffing
  • Work closely with HR and management to create, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that minimize legal risks and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, collaborating with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and public authorities as needed
  • Prepare, review, and file legal documents such as corporate filings, government reports, and contract agreements
  • Review and negotiate contracts, including service level agreements (SLAs) with clients and vendors, ensuring compliance with BPO and offshore staffing regulations
  • Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s operations
  • Proactively advise management on any potential legal risks arising from new laws or policies
