Requirements

  • 10+ years qualified attorney with significant post-qualification experience in employment and contract law. Law firm experience preferred
  • Proven track record in a senior legal role, ideally within a large or complex organisation
  • Knowledge of US employment legislation, case law, and regulatory requirements, with awareness of specific employment legislation as needed
  • Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of employment and commercial contracts
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in collaborating with external counsel
  • Demonstrable ability to provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of employment law policies and procedures across the organisation, including development, review, and revision of Global Handbook, as needed
  • Advise senior management and HR teams on complex employment law matters, including recruitment, employee relations, redundancy, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations
  • Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of employment contracts, consultancy agreements, and service contracts to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation
  • Monitor and interpret legislative developments in employment law, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with current regulations
  • Manage the resolution of employment disputes and contractual issues, liaising with external counsel as necessary
  • Represent the organisation in legal proceedings, tribunals, and negotiations with regulatory bodies
  • Provide strategic input into organisational change projects and restructuring from an employment and contractual perspective
  • Maintain accurate records of human resource and employment legal documentation and correspondence
