Requirements

  • Provides advanced-level HR support across employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and organizational development
  • Operates with a high degree of independence, working closely with employees and leadership for consistent and equitable HR policy application
  • Based onsite at Napa, CA location, supporting 56 employees across four Northern California sites with frequent travel and onsite presence required
  • Supports Southern California employees remotely and through occasional in-person visits
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with federal, state, local labor laws, and company policies

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
  • Conducts investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, and policy violations; documents findings and recommends action
  • Assists in responding to legal claims, audits, or government agency inquiries
  • Supports performance review processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and performance improvement plans
  • Coaches managers and employees on feedback, development, and disciplinary matters
  • Facilitates corrective action and progressive discipline processes
  • Assists with succession planning and identifying high-potential talent
  • Supports annual compensation review processes (e.g., merit increases, market adjustments)
  • Collaborates with Total Rewards team on benefits administration, enrollment, and employee education
  • Collaborates with Leave of Absence Department as primary lead on Interactive process for ADA/FEHA compliance, assessing reasonable accommodations and return-to-work support
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition team to align hiring with workforce planning and participates in interviews
  • Supports hiring managers with best practices and ensures smooth onboarding/orientation for new hires
  • Supports delivery of employee training and development programs
  • Facilitates workshops/training on anti-harassment, leadership, workplace ethics, and wage/hour
  • Promotes employee engagement and recognition initiatives
  • Participates in or leads HR projects and continuous improvement
