Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, and have 1–3 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role, preferably in onboarding or employee services. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required. Experience with HRIS or onboarding systems is a plus, along with knowledge of New York City or New York State labor laws and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

The HR Onboarding Specialist will coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including scheduling orientation sessions, preparing onboarding materials, and ensuring completion of new hire documentation. They will act as a point of contact for new employees to ensure a welcoming and informative onboarding experience, maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS and other systems, and assist with background checks, employment verification, and compliance documentation. The role also involves collaborating with IT, Facilities, and Hiring Managers to ensure new hires are set up with necessary tools and access, supporting onboarding/off boarding procedures and employee data updates as needed, and participating in continuous improvement of onboarding and HR processes to enhance employee experience.
