Requirements

  • Experienced HR Generalist with expertise in HR Operations and Benefits
  • Ability to act as a player-coach, blending strategic ownership with hands-on execution
  • Experience overseeing benefits, HRIS, policy creation/maintenance/application, and compensation philosophy/pay bands
  • Leadership experience (lead one direct report)
  • Ability to collaborate with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Chief Communications Officer/Chief of Staff, Legal, and Finance
  • Based in or able to work out of Bombas HQ in New York City

Responsibilities

  • Own administrative and strategic aspects of the company’s benefits program (health & welfare, 401(k), wellness initiatives, leave policies), partnering with HRIS + HR services provider
  • Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process (vendor partnership, employee communication, system configuration)
  • Serve as escalation point for complex employee benefits inquiries
  • Evaluate benefits offerings for competitiveness and cultural alignment
  • Partner with brokers and providers to optimize plans and resolve escalated issues
  • Serve as primary system administrator and SME for HRIS (Rippling), ensuring data accuracy, security, reporting, and analytics
  • Lead optimization of HR systems, including integration of modules like performance management into Rippling
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across People Operations (document, update, automate, enhance efficiency)
  • Manage vendor relationships with benefits brokers and HRIS provider
  • Train managers and employees on effective system use
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll for accurate, seamless processing
  • Develop, maintain, and help implement HR policies
  • Ensure HR infrastructure is compliant, competitive, and consistent with company values and culture
