High School or GED Equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work the hours specified (PRN, as needed)

Responsibilities

Perform designated cleaning in patient care areas, disinfect items in patient rooms
Perform designated cleaning in operating and emergency rooms
Clean all floors, walls, and ceilings
Clean isolation areas according to special standards and procedures
Perform designated cleaning of offices, dining room, and assigned departments (dusting, washing chairs, sinks, mirrors, equipment, telephones, blackboards, fixtures, counters, windows, bathrooms, lights, wall fixtures, walls, vents, tables, chairs; empty ash trays and trash; dispose of refuse; mop and vacuum floors and carpets; fill dispensers)
Report required equipment maintenance and supplies needed to the Housekeeping Manager
Demonstrate knowledge of and support the facility's strategic and operational plans and all facility functions
Assist in cleaning the laundry area and equipment according to established policies and procedures
Record statistical data, including log of laundry poundage by department and performance breakdown log daily
Mend torn linens of good quality and put them back into circulation
Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment, following all relevant policies
