Requirements

  • Extensive experience in technology procurement and commercial negotiation, including contract and licensing structures, and negotiation strategies
  • Experience in developing, scaling, and managing strategic vendor relationships that have demonstrably driven business value and innovation
  • Collaborative leadership with a strategic mindset, capable of coordinating and influencing decision-making among diverse senior stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Cyber, Product, and Technology) in a large, matrixed organisation
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive presence, with the ability to articulate complex commercial strategies and influence executive, business, and technology leaders
  • Experience in the media, publishing, or ad-tech industry is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Develop and champion strategic partnerships: Design and execute a strategic vendor management framework to deepen high-impact, long-term partnerships with critical technology providers
  • Drive commercial innovation & value: Proactively engage with business and technology leaders and key vendors to identify and implement innovative commercial models to unlock business value for Nine
  • Conduct strategic business reviews: Orchestrate timely business reviews and alignment sessions to ensure vendor roadmaps align with and enable Nine's long-term business strategy
  • Provide market intelligence & strategic consulting: Serve as the expert commercial consultant, offering actionable advice on technology pricing, benchmarks, and best-in-class commercial structures to inform multi-year technology roadmaps
  • Lead commercial negotiation: Execute high-value commercial negotiations across core technology categories
  • Handle contract structuring: Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation through optimisation of licensing structures and consumption models
  • Manage commercial governance & cross-functional alignment: Act as the central commercial owner for technology contracting, coordinating deal execution across Legal, Finance, Security, and Compliance teams
