Responsibilities

  • Define Japan-specific growth strategy including positioning, messaging, and distribution channels tailored to Japanese culture and social norms
  • Work closely with product and design teams to adapt BeReal's features to Japanese user preferences, privacy expectations, and social behaviors
  • Identify key usage differences compared to Europe/US markets and translate insights into actionable product and marketing strategies
  • Lead comprehensive user acquisition campaigns across digital channels, campus initiatives, influencer partnerships, and local events
  • Build and manage partnerships with universities, local brands, media companies, and content creators to accelerate growth
  • Develop growth loops leveraging Japan's unique social media landscape (LINE, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.)
  • Serve as the voice of Japanese users to headquarters, identifying successful features and areas for improvement
  • Oversee marketing and operational budgets while ensuring efficient resource allocation
  • Track and optimize key metrics (DAU, retention, virality) while reporting insights and results to headquarters
