Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within financial services, ideally within asset management, hedge funds, or capital markets
  • Deep expertise in designing and building systems for reference data, security master, benchmarks, or related domains
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.) and data domains relevant to systematic investment processes
  • Proven track record in large-scale, production-quality software designs
  • Strong knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, C#, Rust), software testing methodologies and software architecture
  • Proven experience

Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy & Architecture:
  • Define and drive the vision for investment reference data platforms, aligning with broader Investment Technology strategic objectives
  • Architect scalable, resilient, and extensible systems for reference data, security master, benchmarks, classifications, and market data integrations
  • Ensure data lineage, governance, and quality are first-class concerns across the platform by leveraging common data components
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Lead a team of engineers, data architects, and product managers dedicated to supporting our Investment Services and Portfolio Management teams
  • Partner closely with portfolio managers, operations, compliance, and other technology teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Build strong relationships with data vendors, cloud providers, and integration partners
  • Delivery & Operational Excellence:
  • Own the lifecycle of critical investment data systems: from design and build to deployment, monitoring, and support
  • Ensure platforms meet high standards for performance, security, availability, and compliance
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, DevOps, CI/CD, and agile delivery practices
  • Innovation & Modernization:
  • Champion modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native architectures, adoption of streaming data technologies, and use of machine learning for data quality enhancement
  • Maximize the productivity of our engineers by leveraging LLMs and code assistants to improve quality and time to delivery
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party data services and APIs to improve breadth, depth, and timeliness of investment data
