Requirements

Candidates must have extensive experience leading and overseeing design teams, including senior staff and leaders, ideally within a tech company, with a strong focus on branding and enterprise application design. A proven track record of leading initiatives from design briefs to execution, an impressive portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding, design aesthetic, and UX/UI, and strong working knowledge of product design, typography, website design, brand development, and the creative process are essential. Fluency in product design trends and leading design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, along with excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, are required. The ideal candidate is also kind, empathetic, patient, cares about diversity and inclusion, and is fluent in English.

Responsibilities

The Head of Design will provide creative vision, direction, and leadership for the Design department, building and mentoring a team of talented individuals and overseeing their creative outputs. They will own and develop creative programs and design concepts to align with Remote's vision, branding, and business objectives. This role involves championing user-centered design, user experience, and design-led thinking across the company, leading concept development, providing creative input, setting high-quality standards, and troubleshooting design issues. The Head of Design will also collaborate with cross-functional teams on brand partnerships and creative projects, work on design assets as needed, and use data and feedback to inform design decisions.
