Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related field, and preferably hold an advanced degree or an actuarial designation. They must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in catastrophe modeling or a related area, along with proficiency in industry-standard cat modeling software such as AIR and RMS.
As Head of Cat Modeling, the individual will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s catastrophe modeling strategies and tools, lead the Catastrophe Modeling team, collaborate with actuarial, predictive modeling, and other stakeholders to integrate catastrophe modeling into business processes, foster relationships with insurance carriers and reinsurance brokers, and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on catastrophe modeling results.
