Requirements
- 2–5+ years building wire harnesses/cable assemblies in manufacturing or prototyping
- Ability to read prints/schematics and follow work instructions with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in crimping and soldering (selective tinning, shields/drain wires, coax/twisted pair)
- Hands-on with tooling: strippers, gauges, pull testers, manual/pneumatic crimpers (Daniels or similar), soldering stations, heat guns
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Class 2/3) and familiarity with J-STD-001
- Strong quality and schedule focus: high first-pass yield and low rework
Responsibilities
- Build build-to-print harnesses: cut, strip, crimp, solder, braid/sleeve, heat-shrink, basic potting, final terminations
- Read and follow drawings, schematics, BOMs, work orders, and ECOs; record traceability in ERP/routers
- Crimp and verify terminals/contacts (TE/AMP, Molex, JST, Amphenol/LEMO, etc.) with specified tooling; document pull tests when required
- Print/apply labels and heat-shrink markers per print
- Perform electrical tests: continuity, insulation/hipot, and basic troubleshooting with DMM/cable testers/fixtures
- Execute rework to spec (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620) and support NCMR/MRB containment
- Maintain 5S/ESD and safety; suggest process and DFM improvements
