Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Providing courteous guest service in person or by telephone
  • Answering incoming calls to the retail store and directing calls to the appropriate department
  • Assisting guests with questions in store
  • Performing/processing guest services transactions (credits, over-rings, refunds, lottery ticket sales, money orders/transfers, media purchases, etc.)
  • Operating cash registers and assisting guests with self-checkouts
  • Processing financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, voids, and coupons
  • Bagging customer purchases
  • Maintaining understanding of current store programs and product locations
  • Understanding the use of check-stand equipment
  • Complying with Company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, alcohol and tobacco sales, etc
  • Communicating the Company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • Notifying the department lead or manager of any issues with pricing, cash registers, etc
  • May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer needs
