Responsibilities
Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone
Answer incoming calls to the retail store and direct calls to the appropriate department
Assist guests with questions in store
Perform/process guest services transactions such as credits, over-rings, refunds, lottery ticket sales, money orders/transfers (Western Union), media related purchases, etc
Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and assist guests with self-checkouts
Handle a variety of products including dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef and pork products
Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
Bag customer purchases
Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
Understand use of check-stand equipment (register, self-checkouts) and its efficient operation
Comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling (i.e., damaged/spoiled products), the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, etc
Communicate the Company programs (i.e., loyalty program, scans, etc.), in-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store
Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; ensure the department complies with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards
Notify the department lead or manager of any issues with pricing, cash registers, etc

Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer ex
