Requirements

Candidates must have a strong leadership and operational management background with a proven track record in delivering national or large-scale operational solutions. Excellent commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, and client negotiations, is required, along with high-level communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills. Demonstrable experience in managing teams across multiple locations, proven customer focus skills, and evidence of innovation in operations are essential. A full UK Driving Licence is also required. Preferable qualifications include scaffolding and access industry experience, knowledge of NASC TG20:22 and SG4:22, a CIRS qualification, a NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely, and a CISRS Supervisor/Advanced Scaffolder/Manager Card.

Responsibilities

The General Manager will lead the development and nationwide rollout of a scaffolding solution, ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards, regulations, and company procedures. This role involves building and managing a high-performing team, delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, and overseeing financial performance including P&L, budgeting, and cost control. Key responsibilities also include building and nurturing long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring customer focus and excellent customer experience, and driving innovation in scaffolding methods and operational delivery to enhance efficiency, safety, and customer outcomes. The role requires promoting continuous improvement across all aspects of service quality.
