Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, be licensed in all 50 states and Washington D.C., and hold board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, along with functional medicine training and certification. They should also have a minimum of 1 year of telehealth experience and 3-5 years in clinical practice, focusing on integrative and holistic medicine principles, and be comfortable with telehealth platforms.
The Functional Medicine Physician will conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations via phone and/or video, perform in-depth patient assessments, develop and implement personalized care plans incorporating nutritional therapy, lifestyle modifications, and supplements, educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention, and utilize clinical expertise to address the root causes of diseases through a holistic, patient-centered approach.
