Sales Engineer I - Public Sector
UiPathFull Time
Entry Level & New Grad, Junior (1 to 2 years)
Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government security clearance, with Secret or Top Secret preferred, and TS/SCI strongly preferred. A minimum of 8 years in customer-facing engineering roles, such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions/Field/Partner Engineering, or Sales Engineer, is required. Additionally, at least 5 years of experience working with U.S. public sector customers and a proven track record of deploying prototypes to production are necessary. Experience with deploying complex, scalable products in secure and air-gapped environments is also essential. Strongly preferred experience includes expert Python skills and familiarity with LLM/multimodal application patterns like embeddings, RAG/orchestration, tool/function calling, prompt engineering/versioning, offline/online evaluations, caching/latency control, and guardrails.
The Forward Deployed Engineer will embed with U.S. public-sector customers to design, ship, and scale systems utilizing TwelveLabs' multimodal models. This role involves leading technical discovery, architecture design, implementation, and production hardening, often in regulated or air-gapped environments. Responsibilities include translating complex mission needs into actionable product requirements, partnering with engineering to ensure new capabilities meet operational constraints, and feeding real-world usage patterns and requirements back to the Science team for model tuning. Key duties involve owning engagements end-to-end, from discovery and solution design to prototyping, implementation, and production deployments. The engineer will deliver full-stack video solutions such as video search/retrieval, Q&A, summarization, and analytics, operate in regulated contexts by contributing to ATO packages and meeting customer controls, work with partners to deliver for customers, travel onsite to customer locations regularly, and collaborate closely with Science, Product, and Engineering teams on design reviews and experiments.
AI system for video content understanding
Twelve Labs focuses on artificial intelligence and video understanding by developing a system that analyzes videos to extract key features like actions, objects, and speech. This information is transformed into vector representations, enabling fast semantic search within large video datasets. The company differentiates itself by providing a platform that is faster and more effective than many existing models, allowing developers and product managers to easily integrate its technology through an API. Twelve Labs aims to make all videos searchable, enhancing the way businesses utilize video content.
