Responsibilities

  • Directing department personnel to meet goals and objectives
  • Communicating with store management and department supervisors
  • Selecting, onboarding, and coaching new team members
  • Scheduling all team members
  • Engaging with customers through greetings, product information, selling suggestions, and thank yous
  • Taking customer orders and ensuring satisfaction
  • Ensuring department personnel follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock levels and merchandising standards
  • Overseeing the preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/food service items (breakfast, lunch, dinner, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages, and snacks)
  • Displaying deli/food service items according to guidelines
  • Following product recipes
  • Rotating deli/food service items for sale, ensuring quality, safety, and product shrink control
  • Receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, and breaking down orders
  • Positioning cases of products in storage areas or coolers
  • Periodically counting inventory
