Responsibilities

  • Meeting department goals and objectives
  • Communicating directly with store management and department supervisors
  • Selecting, onboarding, and coaching new team members
  • Scheduling all team members
  • Engaging with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information, providing selling suggestions, and offering active sampling, and always giving a genuine thank you
  • Taking customer orders and ensuring orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Ensuring department personnel follow all county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies
  • Ordering products and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and meet merchandising standards
  • Overseeing the preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/food service items, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, prepared salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, hot and cold beverages, and snack items
  • Displaying deli/food service items following department and/or company merchandising guidelines
  • Following product recipes without deviation
  • Attentively rotating deli/food service items for sale, ensuring quality, safety, and product shrink control
  • Receiving merchandise for sale and supplies, auditing invoices, breaking down orders, and positioning cases of products in storage areas or walk-in coolers/freezers
