Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-5 years experience in the meat and/or seafood industry, FSQA experience at a federal CFIA/FDA processing plant, a valid driver’s license, SQF practitioner or equivalent GFSI experience, and Meat/Seafood HACCP certification. Beneficial skills include formal training in TQM, SPC, HACCP, CFIA/FDA regulations, quality/sensory analysis, and ability to use PCs, lab equipment, and food preparation equipment.
The role frequently interacts with Sysco specialty meat/seafood company personnel, operations, sales, transportation, maintenance, Sysco operating companies, and supplier/customer personnel at the line level.
Strong candidates have 1-5 years of meat/seafood industry experience, FSQA background at federal plants, HACCP certification, SQF practitioner experience, and formal training in TQM, SPC, and regulations. Raw meat/seafood experience can substitute for combined experience, and hands-on skills with lab equipment and PCs are key.
