Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical certifications or vocational training in vehicle repair (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance operations
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance, repair, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
  • Experience with OEM warranty recovery and national account programs
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance scheduling and execution
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and record-keeping capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work outside regular hours when necessary
  • Preferred: Knowledge of UFP’s organizational structure, culture, and product lines

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate regular inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Manage routine services including preventive maintenance (PMs), tire rotations, annual inspections, campaigns, recalls, and warranty opportunities
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and increase fleet availability
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
  • Collaborate with regional managers, drivers, and other stakeholders to address maintenance concerns and deliver timely solutions
  • Source and procure parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality
  • Oversee external service providers and vendors, leveraging national accounts to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of work
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety within the fleet maintenance team
  • Provide regional support and coverage as needed, ensuring continuity of fleet operations
  • Lead or participate in special projects as assigned
  • Be available to assist with after-hours breakdowns as needed
  • Attend quarterly driver meetings to support communication and alignment
  • Maintain a consistent presence in the office to support operations and team collaboration
