  • Love writing code and continue learning to do it better (Backend 80%, Frontend 20%)

  • Familiar with Typescript (Node) as web services in addition to general API design
  • Confident in a modern web framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc). We leverage React with Typescript
  • Familiar with various data stores and know how to interact with them. Confident in SQL
  • Familiar with Docker and how to run locally and deploy remotely via Helm to Kubernetes
  • Familiar with AWS and have used some managed services like S3, API Gateway, SQS, etc

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in tracking, building, and scaling alarms and statuses of the thousands of devices in the field for all internal teams
  • Build, maintain, and scale the fleet management services at Flock
  • Meet with colleagues and understand current processes and procedures (First 30 Days)
  • Work on tasks for the sprint with support and understand how fleet management services work (First 30 Days)
  • Understand your role on the team and expectations; ask questions publicly to spread knowledge (First 30 Days)
  • Perform role with decreased need for guidance and complete features with little support (First 60 Days)
  • Understand software design philosophies, navigate the code base, and engage in technical conversations (First 60 Days)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide feedback on what works well, limitations, and missing metrics (First 60 Days)
  • Build relationships with team members (First 60 Days)
  • Perform role with little guidance and transparency; pick up larger, more ambiguous engineering tasks (90 Days & Beyond)
