As a Field Applications Engineer at Arrow Electronics, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers in selecting and integrating electronic components and solutions. You'll act as a trusted advisor, providing technical expertise and support to ensure customer and supplier success.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in mixed-signal and embedded design.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to quickly build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience: Typically requires 3–5 years of electronic design experience with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; or 2 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Programming/Linux: Experience in C-programming and/or Embedded Linux.
  • FPGA (Plus): Experience with FPGA’s is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Demand Creation: Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs and understanding customer needs.
  • Customer Support: Accelerate customer’s time to market by providing technical support and leveraging support escalation paths.
  • Customer Understanding: Partner with customers to gain a thorough understanding of their design requirements at both system and component levels.
  • Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver sales presentations to customers.
  • Opportunity Management: Manage top opportunities and opportunity funnel for assigned suppliers.
  • Supplier Training: Attend supplier trainings to stay up to date on technologies and market needs.
  • Sales Team Support: Train the local sales team in new products and assist in marketing efforts.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers, managing expectations and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Strategic Planning: Actively participate in strategic branch meetings and quarterly business reviews, developing and driving strategic technical plans.
  • Event Organization: Help plan and organize engineering customer events and seminars.
