Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Three years’ supervisory experience in a Welding Environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of welding and robotics
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with people
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Standards
  • Ability to pass Lift Truck Training and Tests to obtain Lift Truck License
  • Effective communication skills as well as good written skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production activities at the Hang line, Weld Cells, and other work areas
  • Coordinate schedules and manpower assignments to meet production requirements
  • Communicate with the Paint and Assembly Departments to monitor WIP Levels and to ensure the correct parts and correct numbers of parts are sent to the Paint and Assembly Departments
  • Communicate with the Press Room and Materials Department to ensure the correct parts and correct numbers of parts are available for current production needs and changeovers
  • Understand the safe operation of Weld Cells and Hang line all support equipment & maintain Safety Standards
  • Handle production personnel matters such as safety concerns, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals
  • Ensure Scrap Forms, Hour to Hour, Downtime, and Weld Wire Usage forms are completed and turned in daily
  • Attend Zone Leader Training Modules
  • Qualify operators to document Work Instructions and document training
  • Maintain Quality and ISO 9000 Standards (Weld Pry Inspections, Control on Nonconforming Product, Control of Records, Document Control)
  • Use the 8D Process to eliminate and document Production and Quality issues
  • Use 6S steps to maintain House Keeping Standards
  • Ensure Fab Zone Guidelines / Disciplines (Fab 101) are being followed
  • Highlight concerns and identify opportunities for improvement
