Position Overview

- Language: English to Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) (Subtitling)
- Brief Description: We are seeking freelance translators with proven experience in subtitling for the TV and Movie industry for English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) to join our global localization network. Interested candidates should submit their CV in English, detailing their subtitling experience.
Requirements
- Native Proficiency: Native proficiency of the target language (Traditional Chinese - Taiwan).
- Source Language Proficiency: Strong command of the source language (English).
- Industry Experience: Experience in at least one of the following areas of the entertainment industry: localization QC, audiovisual translation and subtitling.
- Software & Technology: Experience with subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology.
- Technical Understanding: Deep understanding of closed captioning and subtitling, and their common failures and technical challenges.
- Translation Nuances: Solid understanding of nuances of subtitle and dub translations.
- Cultural Awareness: Working knowledge of cultural differences and best practices for subtitles and dub audio creation.
- Education: University degree or equivalent professional experience in the translation field.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to workflow/process changes and updates.
- Skills: Great attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide freelance translation services for subtitling English content into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) for the TV and Movie industry.
- Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translations and subtitles.
- Utilize subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology effectively.
