Position Overview

Humana's Marketing and Communications organization is seeking a detail-oriented Bilingual Translator-Proofreader, proficient in English and Spanish, to join the Translation Team as a Bilingual Production Professional 2. In this role, you will effectively manage projects to fulfill written translations as requested by communication owners throughout Humana, contributing to our mission of putting health first within our caring community.

Key Role Functions

• Collaborate with internal business areas to process translation requests of pre-formatted documents.
• Partner with external translation vendors to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and meet pre-determined deadlines.
• Proofread and quality-check translations before delivery.
• Provide feedback to translation vendors regarding the quality of translations as needed.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree.
• Language Proficiency: Bilingual English/Spanish; must be able to speak, read, and write in both languages without limitations or assistance.
• Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience translating healthcare content.
  • Experience with InDesign.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional grammar skills in English and Spanish.
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a writer/editor/journalist in Spanish.
• Experience partnering with/managing external vendors.

Additional Information

Language Proficiency Testing

Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.

Remote Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended.
• Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested.
• Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections can be used only if approved by leadership.

Employees who live and work from Home in the states of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Employees must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
