Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Robotics with a focus on localization and mapping and have at least 2 years of industry experience. Experience in building SLAM systems in production is required, along with strong C++ programming skills. Candidates should also have experience designing and evolving systems and possess strong verbal and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Mapping & Localization Engineer will design and implement core components of the next generation mapping and localization engine. They will contribute to a mapping system that scales to city-size environments while maintaining high resolution geometry for navigation. Collaboration to enhance map annotation tooling and data consumption by neural network approaches for safe navigation is expected. They will also contribute to flexible location estimation by fusing relative and absolute measurements, work closely with autonomy team members to maximize mapping and localization utility, and ship production quality code while participating in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
