Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in emergency response or a related field
IAEM Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or ability to obtain within 1 year from date of hire (preferred)
Experience working with hazardous materials and waste management (preferred)
Multimedia sampling experience (preferred)
Familiarity with incident command systems and emergency operations centers (preferred)
Previous experience in a consulting or environmental services firm (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of surface water sampling methods and techniques
Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure
Proficiency in using emergency response software and tools
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to develop and deliver training programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Availability to travel at a moment’s notice

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans
Coordinate with local authorities and clients to establish response protocols
Ensure all response plans comply with relevant safety regulations and standards
Lead and manage emergency response teams during incidents
Conduct regular training and drills to ensure team readiness
Evaluate team performance and provide feedback for improvement
Coordinate and oversee response activities during environmental emergencies
Assess incident situations and develop appropriate response strategies
Ensure timely communication with all stakeholders during emergencies
Ensure all response activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain accurate records of incidents and response actions
Prepare and submit required reports to client and regulatory agencies
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during emergency incidents
Communicate effectively with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
Provide regular updates and reports to clients and management
