Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles within SaaS or HR-tech industries, along with 2+ years of leadership experience in managing large enterprise software deployments. Strong experience with API-based integrations, data mapping, and middleware solutions is required, as well as proven architecture leadership for major global talent, skills, or learning platform transformations. Hands-on technical expertise with REST APIs, event buses (Kafka/SNS/SQS), OAuth 2.0/OIDC/SAML, webhooks, and bulk or streaming ETL tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory) and integrations with data warehouses or BI tools is also necessary. Proficiency in building automation and middleware solutions, with familiarity in languages like JavaScript or Python being a plus. Expertise in security architecture covering encryption, IAM, SSO, RBAC, data privacy, and auditing is essential.

Responsibilities

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for establishing a solution and value-oriented method of working with Degreed’s strategic customers, building long-term roadmaps and creating compelling joint visions. They will serve as the technical strategist ensuring Degreed’s platform seamlessly integrates into global enterprise customers’ HR-IT landscapes, collaborating closely with customers to understand their tech ecosystems and define end-to-end architecture. This includes working alongside Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and client solution teams to implement skills-driven talent experiences. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and scope technical engagements, ensure delivery quality, and leverage Degreed technology to implement novel solutions to client challenges.
