Engineering Manager (Product Engineering)

Candidates must have managed an engineering team of at least 2 people, possess extensive experience with Frontend (React, JS, ES6 and Jest) or Backend (Elixir/Phoenix), demonstrate a commitment to promoting Remote’s values, exhibit solid communication skills, possess solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices, demonstrate proven organizational skills with attention to detail, prioritize efficient processes with a kind, people-first approach, be able to inspire others and instill confidence, and have a good understanding of team dynamics.
The Team Leader will manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend), spend 30% of the time doing management work while actively participating in product development, be involved in hiring processes for their own team and potentially help out their peers, manage the onboarding process of new engineers, manage team dynamics and bring out the best in the team by being the spokesperson, give continuous and constructive feedback, help the team grow continuously as a group and be responsible for each direct report’s career, and provide guidance and coaching to the team.
