Requirements

  • Strong interest in CrowdStrike's mission and willingness to engage with product teams and customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with global engineering and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work on Pacific time schedule (team spread between west coast of North America and Australia)
  • Located in the United States or Canada (remote role)
  • Hands-on technical leadership: able to participate in code and design reviews, provide technical guidance, make sense of team's PRs, and develop in-depth understanding of the team's work
  • No prior security industry experience required (mentoring provided), but experience managing software engineering teams expected

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing work, managing team workload, project resourcing & coordination, including saying “no” and “not yet” when appropriate
  • Keeping the team on track, adjusting for surprises
  • Detailed participation in code and design reviews, providing technical guidance and feedback
  • Gathering and communicating team status
  • Communicating and coordinating with other teams, from individual contributors to executives
  • Triaging customer support and user tickets, building relationships with those teams
  • Collaborating with senior engineers and product management to shape roadmap and technical strategy
  • Balancing immediate use cases with longer-term technical strategy
  • Resolving interpersonal conflicts
  • Coaching engineers, guiding career growth via frequent feedback
  • Hiring, interviewing, and occasionally sourcing candidates
  • Instrumental in hiring, retention, and growth of the team, working cross-functionally with engineering management, product management, program management, support, and others
