Requirements

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience managing technical teams of six or more engineers. A proven track record in building and improving frontend infrastructure and tooling for developers is required, along with deep knowledge of modern development practices, developer tooling, and current web best practices and industry standards. Strong leadership abilities including experience in hiring, mentoring, and growing senior engineers, and excellent communication skills to build consensus with stakeholders are essential. Experience planning, scoping, and executing cross-organizational migrations with an emphasis on limiting migration cost to consumers is also important.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will manage and mentor a team of engineers focused on developing world-class developer productivity tools and infrastructure. They will define and implement strategies for improvements in frontend infrastructure, developer tooling, and release processes to enable rapid innovation while upholding high-security standards. This role involves driving the adoption and integration of tools, services, and APIs built by the team across the codebase, and staying abreast of emerging web and frontend technologies to assess their applicability. The manager will work closely with stakeholders to understand developer and client needs, identify and implement solutions, and design and refine processes that enhance team operations and developer productivity. They will also champion best practices for web clients and frontend stacks.
