Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with over 8 years in Software Engineering. Proven experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems, managing 10+ engineers for over 3 years, and building high-scale distributed systems for a product company for over 5 years is required. Technical depth in agile product development, distributed systems, infrastructure, cloud computing, build tools, front-end engineering, mobile, and QA is essential. The ideal candidate is a nimble and proactive thinker with a track record of success in fast-paced environments, comfortable with short release cycles and owning the full software lifecycle. A passion for experimentation, learning, and improving processes, along with demonstrated success in hiring, managing, and motivating engineers, is crucial. Experience in coding and a strong understanding of healthy engineering culture are also necessary.
The Engineering Manager, Software (Motive Card) will define and implement a technology vision for building new product features for fleet and driver safety, including fraud mitigation. They will manage the product and business outcomes of the engineering team, develop a long-term product roadmap in collaboration with product teams, and drive the execution, launch, and daily operations of functionalities. Responsibilities include introducing and evolving development, release, and operations processes, developing and improving best practices and coding standards, and hiring, managing, and developing a diverse team of engineers. This involves providing technical guidance, coaching, and career development, and contributing to development tasks such as coding and feature verification as needed to assist teams with release commitments and deepen understanding of the codebase and business processes.
