Candidates must be US Citizens, able to work domestically, and obtain a low-level security clearance. A Bachelor's degree is required. Proven experience in engineering leadership, ideally across multiple agile teams, is necessary, along with a background in software engineering (React & Rails). Strong facilitation skills for scrum ceremonies and cross-team collaboration are essential. Familiarity with IVR or Voicebot technologies and VA-specific processes such as ATO, VAEC, network security, and standard VA tooling is preferred. Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders and demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage dependencies, and deliver in complex environments are also required. Experience working in Agile development environments is a must.
The Engineering Lead will provide technical direction and delivery for the VA Voicebot program, guiding engineering teams and removing blockers. This role involves coordinating with program management to align engineering work with stakeholder priorities, translating priorities into actionable engineering tasks, and communicating technical challenges to stakeholders. The lead will also support individual contributors, engage in mob programming sessions, and perform technical problem-solving. Additionally, they will run scrum ceremonies for the Enterprise Integration team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
